How the 2026 Mainely Grow-Off Works

The Grow-Off entry window is open now through September 21st.

Once you have your entry and seeds in hand, you can start germination right away. There is no longer one set germination start date. Start when your seeds arrive, document everything, and stay current with the required check-ins.

  • $200 Grow-Off Entry

    Includes all four official Grow-Off competition strains and one official entry into the 2026 Mainely Genetics Grow-Off.

    This option is built for competitors who want to enter the Grow-Off, run the four featured strains, complete the Grove App check-ins, and compete in all four prize categories.

    Epic Grow Off Entry 

  • $1,100 Rainbow Guava Full-Line Entry

    Includes the complete 17-pack Rainbow Guava line, the official $100 Grow-Off entry, and Lord Bandrilla and Radical Redux added at no additional cost.

    This option is for growers who want the full Rainbow Guava drop while also locking in their official Grow-Off entry.

    Big Grow Off Bundle 

Both options count as one official Grow-Off entry. Each entrant may compete in all four categories: Radical Redux, Lord Bandrilla, Devil’s Nectar, and Nebulah OH’s. Limit one official entry per person.

Prize Pool

Every official Grow-Off entry adds $100 directly to the competition prize pool.

The more growers who enter, the bigger the prize pool becomes. As the Grow-Off grows, we plan to add more prizes, more category awards, giveaways, and grower rewards.

The four main Grow-Off strains will still be judged as their own competitions:

• Radical Redux
• Lord Bandrilla
• Devil’s Nectar
• Nebulah OH’s

Each strain will award first, second, and third place.

First-place winners may choose either the cash value of their category prize or the same prize amount in Mainely Genetics store credit, with an additional $100 in store-credit value added.

Second- and third-place winners will each receive a Mike’s Choice Grow-Off Seed Bundle.

In addition to the main strain categories, we are also adding more ways to win through bonus categories. These may include categories like Best Rockwool, Best DWC Hydro, Best Living Soil, Best Flower, Best Structure, Best Photo / Video, Community Favorite, and more.

The larger the Grow-Off gets, the more we can put back into the community through extra prizes, bonus categories, and grower rewards.

Every strain is judged as its own competition, and bonus categories create even more opportunities to place or win. One exceptional grower may place, win, or be recognized in multiple categories.

Check-Ins Through the Grove App

All official Grow-Off check-ins will be completed through the Grove App.

Competitors will use the Grove App to submit germination photos, progress updates, and required competition check-ins. This keeps everyone’s grow documented in one place and helps make the competition easier to follow, verify, and judge.

The official check-in schedule will be announced after registration closes. Special accommodations may be made when absolutely necessary, but all competitors should plan on using the Grove App as the main check-in platform.

Missed check-ins, germination issues, or unexpected grow problems will be reviewed individually and handled on a case-by-case basis.

Final Submissions & Judging

  • Final Submission Requirements

    Final Submission Requirements

    Final submissions must be completed for each Grow-Off strain entered. If a grower enters more than one strain, each strain must have its own separate final submission.

    Each final submission must include:

    • Three finished photos
    • One final video

    Final photos and videos must be sent directly to Mainely Genetics by DM or email. Do not post your final submission publicly before judging. This helps keep the judging process fair and allows entries to be posted anonymously for the Overall community vote.

    Submissions should clearly show the finished plant or flower and should represent the grower’s final work as well as possible. Photos and videos should highlight overall quality, plant structure, flower development, resin production, color, density, cleanliness, and anything else that helps show the strength of the grow.

    The final video should give a clear look at the entry from multiple angles and should help show details that may not come through in photos alone.

    Final submissions may be used for the anonymous community vote for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Overall, as well as for additional categories selected by Mainely Genetics.

    To qualify for judging, each entry must complete all required steps, including germination photos, regular check-ins, secret word updates, and final submission requirements.

    All final photos and videos must be submitted by January 22nd.

  • Community Judging

    Final Judging

    After final submissions are received, Mainely Genetics will post the submitted photos and videos anonymously so the community can vote without knowing which grower submitted each entry.

    The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Overall winners will be selected by anonymous community vote.

    Additional category winners may be selected by Mainely Genetics based on grow style, medium, documentation, plant structure, flower quality, creativity, and other standout features from the competition.

    These additional categories may include things like:

    • Best Rockwool
    • Best DWC Hydro
    • Best Living Soil
    • Best Flower
    • Best Structure
    • Best Photo / Video
    • Community Favorite
    • And more

    Grower names will be revealed after voting is complete and winners are announced.

Eligibility & Rules

The 2026 Mainely Genetics Grow-Off is open to adults age 21 and older.

There is a limit of one official Grow-Off entry per person. Each official entry allows the competitor to grow and compete in all four strain categories: Radical Redux, Lord Bandrilla, Devil’s Nectar, and Nebulah OH’s.

Participants are responsible for following all laws and regulations that apply in their location. Mainely Genetics does not impose additional location restrictions for the competition.

Official check-ins must be completed through the Grove App unless special accommodations are absolutely necessary and approved by Mainely Genetics.

Missed check-ins, germination issues, and unexpected grow problems will be reviewed individually and handled on a case-by-case basis.

Final submissions must be sent directly to Mainely Genetics by DM or email. Final submissions will be posted anonymously for community voting.
